International Forum "Learning to Live Together", final report

UNESCO gives very high importance to peace-building education and conflict prevention. The International Forum “Learning to Live Together. Education as an Instrument for Social Cohesion, Conflict Prevention and Resolution” was conducted by the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty in cooperation with the National Commission for UNESCO of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Soros Foundation – Kyrgyzstan, and the UN Women Sub-regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (June, 2012).

The report presents results of Forum discussions and group work. The Forum's recommendations include issues related to the role of the educational system in prevention of conflicts and their consequences, specificities of budget and human resources policy, and activities of the system for capacity-building for pedagogic staff and governmental officials.
